Objects

Orichalcum
(orick-cal-kum):

A rare and precious metal found only in the core of fast-moving asteroids. When stars burn and and shed Emthereum, the micro particles become embedded in the asteroid. As the asteroid continues it's cosmic journey, the Emthereum is super heated and combines with other accumulated particles creating Orichalcum, and used to create the OriCells serving as the energy source for Automata.

OriCell:

Using orichalcum plates to stabilize the raw Emthereum particles, the OriCell is a feat of engineering, powering everything from vehicles to starships. The OriCell is also at the center of the autonomous machines populating Selma City, as a single cell is capable of maintaining adequate charge for the lifetime of most machines.

Objects

Artificial Intelligence: The first A.I. was created by a young, brilliant student named Adler Brane. Initially a brainchild of the Automated-Systems Corporation, Brane left the company when it refused to fund his "PATHOS" project aimed at creating artificial intelligence. At the time artificial intelligence was considered a moral gray area as initial research proved AI to be volatile and unpredictable. Eventually, Adler Brane goes on to found General Robotics.

Amadium (Uh-made-e-UM): When in the vicinity of this mineral subjects are susceptible to having "If, then," visions pertaining to the future.

Virtual Intelligence: Nearly identical to artificial intelligence in capability, VI is not sentient and do not possess any type of volition as they are the product of an extremely advanced level logic-based programming.

Automata: The highest level of Machina, the automata is a sentient machine capable of complex thought, volition, and emotions. No other Machina types may be constructed on the lines of human form, where most are designed to perform a task with no regard to their aesthetics, the automata is an artificial lifeform designed to exist.

Emthereum: Newly discovered by Orient scientist, Afua Ichiban, Emthereum is an extremely powerful energy resource. As a star burns, it releases exothermal energy as a byproduct. Previously the energy signatures were undetectable, as it is only visible upon release and is neither hot, cold, or wet, or dry.
